    Do you have an instrument in good condition that you are not using? Consider donating it to the Central Music Academy!

    Donations can be dropped off at 105 Spruce St. Contact Michelle at 859.221.2190 to schedule an appointment. All donations are tax-deductible.

  • 2016 CMA Rocks The House

    Help us honor the work of founding CMA Board member Dr. George Zack, our 2016 CMA Rocks the House special guest. Come out to the 3rd Annual CMA Rocks the House for a fantastic evening of fun, food, music, and art at ArtsPlace! Guests will enjoy wine, beer and hors d'oeuvres while bidding on unique vinyl record artwork created by noted local artists. Musical entertainment will be provided by CMA students and teachers. Enjoy a fabulous evening supporting the arts and underserved youth in the community!

  • Kentucky Music Showcase Cookout and Benefit

    Come out to the Kentucky Music Showcase Cookout and Benefit for a great day of music and food! Live music from local musicians from 12:00pm - 11:00pm at the 700 Block of Bryan Avenue in Lexington, KY. It is going to be a great day! Admission is free. Donations can be made to the Central Music Academy. Check out their Facebook page for a list of performing artists. 

  • World Percussion Camp and Chamber Strings Camp

    This summer, the Central Music Academy will hold the World Percussion Camp and the Chamber Strings Camp from June 20 - 24, 9:00am - 12:00pm. Both camps are free to students who qualify for free/reduced lunch; $100 for those who do not. Deadline to apply is June 13, 2016. 

    World Percussion Camp
    The camp is for students ages 10 - 18. During the camp, students study music theory, African and Brazilian drums, Caribbean steel pans, and "Stomp"-style musical creation (using any type of cheap household object as an instrument).

    Chamber Strings Camp
    The camp is for students ages 10 - 18 and students must be able to read music and have at least 2 years of experience. Throughout the week, students will explore new repertoire as part of a string quartet as well as a larger chamber ensemble. They will receive instruction on technique, sight reading, music theory, and improvisation.
