Steve Siegel is the graduate teaching assistant for the University of Kentucky (UK) trumpet studio, where he is pursuing a DMA in trumpet performance. Steve holds a Bachelor of Music degree from James Madison University (JMU) and a Master of Music degree from West Texas A&M University (WTAMU). From 2012 – 2014, he was the trumpet graduate assistant at WTAMU, where he performed as 2nd trumpet in the Faculty Brass Quintet, assisted in teaching private lessons to undergraduates, and performed in the trumpet ensemble. Prior to pursuing his master's degree, Steve was a high school band director for three years in Henry County, VA, where he taught marching band, concert band, jazz band, music theory, and percussion ensemble.
Steve has performed as principal trumpet in most of his college ensembles including the premier concert bands for WTAMU and JMU, jazz ensembles for WTAMU and JMU, JMU Brass Band, and was a soloist for the Marching Royal Dukes. He has had the opportunity to perform with the Amarillo Symphony Orchestra, numerous pit orchestras, and the Lexington Brass Band.
